Mission Partners

Christ Church is committed to supporting the work of the world-wide church through its Mission Partners and through support to both international and UK ministries. We are presently regularly supporting 11 ministries and our 2015 budget for giving to other ministries and organisations stands at £78,344 which represents 15% of our 2014 voluntary giving income.
Each month at Christ Church, we have a specific focus on one of our Mission Partners as "Mission Of The Month". Each Mission Partner is also represented by a member of our Mission Coordination Team and linked to one of our Home Groups.

Our Mission Partners

Amos Street Child (New Generation Burundi) imageThe Amos Trust supports a number of street children initiatives.  For several years we supported Umthombo, a street child project based in Durban, South Africa.  In July 2014, we moved our support to New Generation Burundi, a fairly new initiative focused on the street kids of Bujambura, the capital of Burundi.  Burundi, one of the poorest nations in the world, has endured a long history of conflict between different ethnic groups and the fallout of conflict and genocide, as well as the prevalence of HIV and Aids has left many children orphaned, many of whom end up living on the streets.  New Generation Burundi supports and seeks to rehabilitate the street children back into their communities and schools.  To learn more click here.
CMS
imageCMS is committed to raising people up to share Jesus and change lives doing this through cross-cultural mission and working closely with the Anglican church world-wide.  CMS missionaries go and live in another culture, learning its language, serving the people in the name of Jesus and entering into conversations about Him.  They do that in the hope that, as much by their lives as their words, people will respond to his invitation to a living relationship with him that changes people’s lives and leads to life in all its fullness.  Christ Church is currently supporting a CMS member in Asia who is working for the release of children who have been trafficked and who is raising awareness in the local communities about the realities of trafficking.  To learn more click here.
imageCompassion UK Clare Hartley, a member of the church, serves with Compassion.  Compassion is a Christian child-development organisation working in partnership with churches in 26 developing countries.  Compassion’s mandate is to release children from poverty in Jesus name.  Compassion’s model is one to one sponsorship, enabling sponsors to build a relationship with their sponsored children through letter-writing.  Compassion partner churches provide for children’s education, spiritual development, physical care and emotional needs.  Close to 100 children are sponsored by Christ Church members.
