Andy Bruins

Andy is the Youth Pastor at Christ Church.  Born in Hackney when his family returned to England after 20 years working as missionaries in the Middle-east, Andy grew up in Ipswich.

Andy left picturesque Suffolk to attend Brunel University in Englefield Green when he was 18 and, much to his sorrow, never returned.

Andy studied Industrial Design at Brunel and graduated in 1998.

After leaving University he was lured to the North West by a Geordie girl living in Liverpool, to whom he was married that very summer.

Andy and Sarah lived in Wavertree in Liverpool for 9 years during which Andy worked as a development engineer, a secondary school teacher and a Youth Ministry apprentice.

Also during this time, they spent a year in Tanzania, teaching and supporting missionary work with Africa Inland Mission.

Andy studied for 2 years on the North West Ministry Training Course in Leyland and led the 14-18's youth ministry at the Bridge Chapel Centre in Garston, Liverpool.

One reason Andy loves living in Virginia Water is because it’s a great place to get out and enjoy the scenery but, he says, the best part of the country for walking is definitely the Lake District.

Andy loves his Kawasaki ZZR600 but secretly wishes it was a ZZR1400 which would be slightly more insane!

But most of all, Andy loves seeing how the Word of God saves and changes young people.
