Francis Blight

Francis is the Curate at Christ Church. He grew up in Windsor and went to Scaitcliffe School in Englefield Green (now Bishopsgate School).  After university, in Newcastle -Upon-Tyne, he moved to London where he worked in the music industry for the MCPS-PRS Alliance, (the company which sorts out the UK’s music royalties).  He joined The Holy Redeemer Church, Streatham Vale where he got involved in ministry to 11-14 year olds, subsequently taking a year out from work to train for Christian Ministry on the Cornhill Training Course. This led him to join the staff team at Church on the Corner, a new Anglican church in Islington, where he worked for five years.  He has recently completed his academic training for Anglican ministry at Oak Hill College, and was ordained in June 2008.

Francis is a music fan and singer-songwriter. You can listen to some of his recordings at CDBaby, Purevolume and iTunes.

He is part of the team that runs the Casterton 2 Pathfinder Venture for 11-14 year olds, where he is involved with the Growing Leaders program and leading the singing at the main meetings.

Francis really enjoys talking to people about Jesus Christ and makes an annual pilgrimage to the Reading Festival to meet and discuss the gospel with festival goers.

Francis is married to Georgina and they have two little boys, Tom and Sam.
