Suzanne Derbyshire

Suzanne was appointed as the Children’s and Family Pastor in October 2006. 

Her professional background is as a teacher. She graduated in Yorkshire and has divided her career between teaching at primary schools in the UK and international schools in Norway, Finland and Japan.

Since leaving the teaching profession, she spent a year at Capernwray Bible School in Lancashire.

Prior to moving to Virginia Water in 2006, Suzanne and her husband Ian lived in Devon, where she came into children’s ministry working alongside the Faith Mission.

Her role at Christ Church involves working with a team to lead the children’s ministry on a Sunday and supporting parents in nurturing their children’s spiritual development. She also works in local schools as a trained Bible Explorer presenter to help children understand the significance of the Bible as well as leading assemblies and lunchtime clubs.

Her passion is to see the children committing their lives to Jesus Christ and growing in love and knowledge of Him.
