Sunday ServicesBelow is detailed our normal pattern of Sunday services. This pattern may be varied at certain times of the year such as Christmas and Easter so please consult the 'Diary' section of the website for specific dates. You will also find details of weekday activities at Christ Church in the 'Diary'. 8:00am Services"Formal and traditional". A traditional Prayer Book service. Services held at Cabrera Avenue Methodist Church. Holy Communion Service - every Sunday 9:30 and 11:00am Services"Contemporary and informal". Sermon series will typically explore a book of the Bible or a theme e.g. "Living the Christian Life". Simple Anglican liturgy. Contemorary hymns and songs played by a full music group. Regular testimonies and mission interviews. All-Age Service - 1st Sunday (with Morning Service at 9:30) Informal Service - 2nd & 4th Sundays The Lord's Supper - 3rd Sunday Children in ServicesChrist Church Council has agreed that children will participate briefly in every Sunday morning service before joining their age related clubs. Adults attending Sunday morning services were asked whether they agreed with the proposal “It is in the best interests of children to be with their parents in church weekly for child friendly opening worship (for up to ten minutes) before participating in their age-related Sunday Club activities” 85% of those who responded agreed. All parents voting agreed. The new pattern will therefore be introduced in September. 6:30pm Services"Informal and energetic". Sermon series will typically explore a book of the Bible or a theme and will focus on nurturing spiritual growth, discipleship and life change. Contemporary music including new songs. Drama, testimony and multimedia. The Lord's Supper - 1st Sunday Informal Service - 3rd & 5th Sundays Youth led Service - 2nd Sunday Student led Service - 4th Sunday Crèche, Sunday Clubs and Youth ActivitiesChildren and young people are very welcome to all our services. Crèche facilities are available during the 9:30am and 11:00am services. Apart from the first Sunday of each month when there is an All Age Service at 11:00am, children aged 3-14 are invited to participate in their separate Sunday Club classes after a brief time in the service with their parents. Prayer MinistryAs a Church we provide personal prayer support during the week and through Sunday services. Opportunities to receive prayer are offered immediately after the 9:30am and 11:00am services, and after the 6:30pm service, in the Tower. |
